So, after Soho we went to drop off our purchases and then went to 5th ave, Rockefeller center, Saks, Anthropology, American Girl and the farmer's market. We hurried back to the hotel, stopping to get a quick pizza dinner. Holli and I headed for the gym then the seven of us dressed up and then walked around the corner to the Gershwin Theater to see Wicked. The girl who originated Elpheba was on that night. We had great seats, great treats and loved the musical. So good.
For dessert we went to Lindy's for pie, cheesecake, Belgian waffle banana splits and ice cream sandwiches. On the way back to the hotel we stopped at the corner for hot dogs. Yum, sort of. At the hotel we took pics with our wicked shirts, raced down the hallway and stayed up way too late. Friday we started out at the NBA store (very cool), Rockefeller Center, NBC Experience store, saw Gene Simmons of Kiss, bought our Mary Poppins tickets and headed to 34th Street to Macy's. Wow. I left the girls there and headed down to Greenwich village to see my cousin Tom who is attending Law School. He showed me a quick tour of his neighborhood and took me to a great Thai restaurant. It was so tasty.
By this time is was raining. I hopped back on the subway, picked up the girls and we headed (now in pouring rain) to B&H Camera shop. It was about to close so we were making a mad dash and barely made it in the door. After this we headed up to Central Park and Rosa Mexicana for some yummy guacamole made table side. Really good--so good we bought $60 worth of it. After this we walked through central park in the rain to the Metropolitan Museum of Art. We made a quick tour through Rembrandt and Vermeer.
We practiced our Taxi hailing skills and hurried over to Madison Ave. to Oilily but it closed 12 min. earlier. Shannon was banging on the glass door "let us in". I think the employee was scared to show his/her face! We gave up and caught another taxi that took us to Tiffany & Co. where some silver was purchased. Our show time was coming up so we hoofed back to the hotel, got ready and caught a cab to the theater. Mary Poppins has great music and special effects. Very cool. We walked around Times Square for a while and then decided to get some Metamucil for dessert. Sad but true. While we were doing this, Shannon, Kelly & Heather were getting in a scuffle with a cab, a guy and his drunk father. You'll have to check out Shannon's blog for details. When we emerged from Duane Reed, there was a limo waiting to pick us up and take us to Cafe Lalo. It was closed when we got there so he took us to Remi. That was closed too. Next we tried Carnegie deli which didn't look appetizing so we went to a little deli/bakery for some almond crescents and hot chocolate and chocolate covered macaroons.
We got up ( a little too) early on Saturday. There was still so much to do! We started out on the Stanton Island Ferry to ride by the Statue of Liberty. Next we headed by the NYSE and Federal Hall. We walked by ground zero which was very humbling. I got a lump in my throat and a knot in my stomach. We kept walking up the Canal Street to pick up a few last minute things and then headed back to the hotel. We checked out and made it to the airport with time to spare.
Thanks to Todd, Liz & Molly for taking care of my family. Todd and the whole family came to pick me up at 11:30pm. The house was clean and everybody was happy. I appreciated the time to spend with the girls in celebration of Kelly finishing the yucky parts of her cancer treatments. Kelly is the best! She has a great positive attitude and is a great sister, friend and aunt. It was fun to go to shows, eat good food, and walk the streets of NYC with these girls and I would have loved to stay longer if I didn't miss my family so much. Until next time!

You got it all! Thanks for documenting it. I love you and miss you! 31 more sleeps until we see all of you for Thanksgiving!
Great pics, Jane! Looks like so much fun. I'm glad for the explanation of Tom! I was beginning to think you took your freedom from Todd and the kids a little too seriously!
If I move to Arizona, will I be as tan as you? You look great - I'm jealous! Time for a Hawaii trip for me!
I'll add master picture taker to the list! Thanks for all the great photos of the trip!
Metamucil for dessert! That is good, but I prefer Pepto Bismol. Carnegie Deli is lacking in ambiance, but the cheesecake is so good! Breakfast is great there, too! I'll bet you are exhausted. Did you ever sit down?
only in the shows, the subways and taxis and to eat. in the hotel we went from standing to bed.
I love you and miss you, can't wait for Thanksgiving. ..we did have the best time. Something we will be talking about forever!
