I'm trying to get back on track after taking off for Thanksgiving. I had the last load of laundry in the washer by 10 am after two straight days of washing clothes for 8 people x 4 days. That was until I went into the girls' quarters. Three more loads, easy. Laundry is like interest in this house. It never sleeps. It never takes a vacation or holiday etc. Ha. Good thing I don't mind doing the laundry! I learned early on that I would be doing a lot of it so I needed to have a good attitude about it. That and mopping the kitchen floor.
That being said, it is going to get backed up again shortly. Todd is taking Brooklyn and Sophie and me to NYC tomorrow. We'll be there for the tree lighting at Rockefeller Center and Brooklyn's birthday. Just a quick trip but we'll try to hit the toy stores and the American Girl Doll store. She wants to go to the Empire State Building and maybe Beauty and the Beast, pizza at John's http://www.johnsofbleeckerstreet.com/ too. We'll see what damage we can do in three days.
And, Christmas. We start out with a budget and I do pretty good with that. Then you start stacking up the gifts, making sure they have some "need" gifts, some "wants" and then the "big" gift. There always seems to be a need to even up towards the end and have a few things on hand for gift exchanges that you weren't planning on, then the teacher gifts, neighbor gifts, Christmas cards, etc. Are you ready? December in 3 days. Yikes. It is snowing so hard right now, I can barely see the trees in our front yard. Happy Tuesday!
