Monday ETA some thoughts..

I do love Mondays, remember? The kids are in school Monday and Tuesday. The school district leaders must be Moms, knowing how we need these two days for the last minute, get the house ready, get the groceries days. I put a brand new bottle of laundry detergent on the shelf above my washer and came in when the buzzer went off to put the clothes in the dryer. The costco sized jug fell off the shelf, hit the washer, bounced on the soccer ball in Brigham's clean clothes bucket, broke the bucket and landed on the floor. How did I not hear this??? When it hit the floor, the cap broke and it leaked the stuff all over the laundry room floor, the washer & dryer fronts, the towels folded on top of the washer and the rugs on the laundry room floor and into the coat closet. Being resourceful, I cleaned up the soap with a white towel, a dark towel and a red towel in hopes to save some soap for each load. It is however, still very slick and I will have wasted a bunch. I'm now still cleaning it in shifts between feeding the girls and blogging (???). Avoidance really.

Our neighbor turned 40 today. He got a banner in his yard (right out my front door) that says, "Stock holders at Pfizer, maker of viagra, wish to thank Don Parker for another great year" Happy 40th. I would like to call that neighbor and tell him he has some esplanin' to do to my 8 year old and 6 year old and the rest of the neighbor kids gathered around the sign. I guess there are 3 or 4 more of these banners across UT county at his place of employment, his old neighborhood, etc. and he has to track them with a GPS device using google earth. Go Don!

Got to clean the mess. Happy Monday!

I don't remember what the lesson title was in RS yesterday but the teacher gave us a lesson on our worth, building relationships and being available to help when needed. She talked on those who make lists and mark off things as a feeling of worth and the way you feel when you don't get any of the tasks marked off the daily lists. She brought her little book of lists and she probably would have burned it had fires been allowed in church explaining that this book was what she used to be about and now she's changed, she takes time to just "be". So, for today I didn't make a list. I watched Nacho with Brynn. I fed the girls. I did some laundry. I cleaned up the mess I made. I finished up some more thank you notes. But, I'm missing my list. I need my list. I want to mark off things like: clean the breakfast mess, take your vitamin, exercise, take a shower, clear off your desk, wrap a gift, make a final list for the grocery store, read, sing to the baby, put the clean clothes away, what is for dinner? Who's doing the FHE lesson, pick up the Christmas cards and granola and fruit. So there. There is my list for today. It's not a measure of worth to me. It is a survival kit on paper. Tomorrow I'll do it first thing. Maybe I missed the point completely.

You could have been driving for 11 hours! The kids were angels--and it is beautiful here! Here's to swimming and shopping at Fashion Island! I'm on my way to the gift shop to look for Triaminic strips for Lucy. She's been so good for a runny nose/eyes baby!
