I got my VT done! That's big, especially by the 3rd of the month. A few hours after I got home, they called and switched my group, new people to go to and new companion, so I have to do it again for JUNE. What? Since the graduating laurels just moved up, my new person to go with is a former laurel and we visit one of the other laurels. Should work out nicely.
I tried some good lunch places this week, Arcadia Farms, in Scottsdale with my neighbor friends (highly recommend the: WARM CHOPPED VEGETABLE SALAD WITH DICED GRILLED CHICKEN grilled asparagus, roasted red peppers, zucchini, grilled corn, diced lime grilled chicken, radicchio, romaine lettuce and lime vinaigrette)
Then to Flancers in Gilbert with Kelly B. & my two favorite sisters. Favorites there were the "it's about thyme" chicken sandwich and the "prime of passion" sandwich. Kelly's French onion soup looked good too. I've had it before and it is tasty. I ate every bite. Thanks for the invite Kelly...We've been getting ready for a little summer vacation, in other words, laundry, laundry, laundry. We did take some time to float in the pool and read books and make pancakes with buttermilk syrup, fresh blackberries and bananas. I came across this photo, one year ago today. She has changed quite a bit in a year. I have been playing around with my new camera lens. Thanks again Todd, it's perfect, and great and I love it.

Here is Brynn working her ice skate shirt with swim suit underneath. Classic Brynn.
I also ran 3 miles this morning before the little girls got up. After the 5 miler (about 500 calories burned, according Lance Armstrong via nike+) on Saturday, I've been thinking in calories. For example, those 100 calorie packs. Not tasty enough to merit a mile of running. 300 calories for one slice of cheese pizza, would I like to run 3 miles for it? Way easier to manage intake rather than out-go. I also did some tempo training this week, 3 separate 1k runs at race pace with 3 minutes in between each one- doing biceps, triceps, bench & military press arm weights in that 3 minutes. I think the variety, tempo, long, interval program is keeping it interesting at least. Looking forward to mixing in some mountain biking & hiking shortly. I think Mt. Timp is on the list of things to do, in between two football camps, a basketball camp, a baseball camp, a gymnastics camp, a scout camp, a girls camp, American idol concert, steel days parade, anniversary trip etc. Oh, ya,
back to packing...
Thanks for listening (er, reading til the end). I feel like I just got off the phone with a friend.
How is your summer going? What are you doing? Any fun vacations or day trips planned? Do share.

Jane,
Can you email pete about the bros. trip. What do they need to bring? Sleeping bag, clothes, food? What are the plans for the week? And is it in Jackson Hole or how far out? Thanks, Melissa
Oh my workouts! Way to go on the running! That would be huge for me, and you seem to do it with ease!
And VT by the 3rd? That's awesome! I finished May Vt'ing on the 1st. Oops! Another goal to put on my plate..thanks for the ideas Jane! =)
I was trying to finish my VT when Lucy took her spill. Maybe it was to teach me that I need to do it sooner.
We can't wait to see all of you--and be around "classic Brynn."
I love arcadia farms. good luck packing!
That salad sounds really good. If anyof the camps are here at the Y, I can help with rides, etc. :)
Jane, I would tell those VT ladies I have already DONE it!! But you are a way better person than I ;) Love those pictures of Sophie and Brynn, I've only met Brynn once, but she was darling!! I'm going running here soon...after I blog of course! It does make you think twice about what you put into your mouth when you put it in terms of running. Your UT trip sounds fun.
