Groovy, Groovy, Groovy

We just got back from a relaxing night and day at the Hotel Valley Ho {two bottom hotel photos via Hotel Valley Ho}in Scottsdale (think Jetsons). Last Chance, RA Sushi, 2 mile jog through a little Scottsdale neighborhood, workout in a really nice gym, a day at the spa, lunch at Kona Grill, cookies from Paradise Bakery, a new birthday suit (ha, ha) from Dillards. Next to open presents from the kiddos. Thank you , thank you, Todd & Molly for holding down the fort.

The first birthday Todd had after we were married we were in school, I was 4 mo. prego with our first and was looking forward to a nice birthday dinner out. I dreamed all day of where he would pick to eat. We didn't eat out a bunch, being college students, so it was a much anticipated treat. We got all ready to go and weren't quite hungry yet so we were walking around in the mall. Next thing I know, Todd is ordering up a hot dog at Orange Julius. OHHHNOOOOO. This is not where we are eating your birthday dinner. But what could I say? Well, I think I did say, April Fools is over and this is just an appetizer right? He looked at me and asked if I wanted a polish dog or a regular dog and I knew that was it. It wasn't about me or the little babe that wanted Chinese or Indian or Tepanyaki or Los Hermanos. Flash forward 15 years. Monday night we were all around the table for a little planning session. I ask Todd, what do you want for your birthday dinner tomorrow? He pauses and then spouts out, with a huge smile on his face, "chili dogs!" Seriously, that's what he wants. So that's what he'll get. I don't think it's his favorite, he's trying to be considerate of the dish situation-he knows I'd make anything he asked for.

Todd is a great husband, father and friend. He makes time to play with the kids, writes poems, works hard, and is very giving, among other things. We love you Todd! Happy Birthday!

We are glad you had such a great B-day! Our only regret is that we weren't there to celebrate with you.
This long-distance stuff is for the birds! We were thinking about you all day. One thing sure; you and Jane really know how to take care of each other, and we couldn't ask for more than that!!! Love ya a ton!
