I dislike being cold very much. I also dislike any combos of the feeling, for example: cold/wet, cold/claustrophobic, cold/tired, cold/carsick, cold/sticky etc.
Our shower gets nice and steamy and then you'll hear a really loud "CLANK" and it shuts off mid-stream. We had a plumber out to fix it and it worked for a while. Lately it will "CLANK" off and if you turn the knob back to the off position, wait a few seconds, then turn it back on, it works. So I've been showering camp style, on 2 minutes, off 2 minutes to soap up, and on 2 minutes to rinse. It's been working pretty good and I'm saving water too, right? Saturday I was in a time crunch. Todd was coming home from NYC and I had to shower and get ready and drive some little cousins home and be back before we headed to the home show in time to look and be home for Chase's basketball game. So I get in the shower and it CLANKS off. I soap up, only this time the water doesn't come back on. I have shampoo in one eye, soapy hands, I'm freezing and no water. I wait a few seconds more. No water. A few seconds more, no go. Once more and I turn it and I hear a sound that's not good. I broke the knob and it won't go either way. OOPS.
Shampoo in eyes and on hair.
Soapy hands.
Freezing cold.
No water.
Birthday suit.
House guests.
In walks Sophie with an orange she wants me to peel. Uh, I'm busy.
Todd's flight has landed.
Oh, and I just rinsed off the plunger in the tub (we don't use the tub ever but do use the plunger frequently, we need a two-fer on the plumber!).
I wrapped up my soapy self in towels, checked the hallway and hurried to the guest bath to finish up.
Add Cold/soapy to the list~!
Have a good saturday!

Good story! I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one suffering through broken appliances. But you do it with such gusto!!!
Sounds like a real 'Mommy' thing. I have been in those situations a few times; and Jerry was always out of town at the time. . .of the memories!
That's sweet! You must be the queen of these moments--or just the only one willing to share :) Hope the plummers set you to rights!
I'll be over Wednesday. What time works?
