Party Time

We've had a few parties lately. We went to the ward Christmas party with my parents last week and they came to ours last night. Theirs was a dinner and Santa. Ours was a Nativity, talent show and dessert/appetizers. Here are a few pictures of the kids with Santa. I asked Brynn to pose by the little tree. She busts out a few twisted faces and then gives me the universal choking sign. ??

As we came in the door to our party they were grabbing our kids to be in the nativity. Chase walked in very late and was put to work as Joseph. Yes, Joseph. They filed in up on the stage and Chase wouldn't stand anywhere near Mary. He was looking up at the basketball net, pulling faces (mostly rolling his eyes) and looking anywhere but at the Baby Jesus. We were motioning him to scoot over and there was no livin' way he was getting closer to Mary. Finally his basketball coach acted like he couldn't get the picture he wanted unless Chase moved over, so he takes one step, then another. Of course he listens to his coach! The audience was getting a huge kick out of this.

Brigham was a wiseman in LA Laker colors and Brooklyn was an angel. Ally was a boy magnet in the back. After the party we met up with Todd and Molly and went to eat at Vitos, an Italian restaurant near our house.

Today in church, the youth were singing a special musical number for sacrament meeting. Sophie followed Ally and Chase up there so we sent Brooke to retreive Sophie. Brigham seeing Brooke head up though he was singing too, so up went Brigham. When they told him to sit back down, his faced turned red and he headed down the steps and then tripped on the front row bench before sliding into our pew. So 5 of our six kids and only 2 eligible, went up to sing with the YW/YM. Nice.
I got this "Texas Sheet Cake Mud Pie Style" recipe from Heidi Swapp  .. (scroll down a bit on her post for the recipe.) It was tasty!

Miss those impromtu nativity days! Enjoy them; they don't last near long enough! The Christmas holidays are here already. Wish you were here to celebrate with us (maybe next year)

Aren't you glad your Joseph wants nothing to do with Mary? Much better that way.

I love that your kids aren't shy! Makes for some fun times I'm sure!

Man, your kids are funny. I think Chase picked up the eye rolling trait from his mother. I've seen a few from you directed at the kiddos! :)

That had me smiling. I love that Joseph wouldn't stand anywhere near Mary, but once his coach said to...well that's a differnt story. Sheet cake looks mightly good.
