is very different than in UT. First of all, it's HOT. There are no trees to shade you and it doesn't get cooler as you head up to the trail. It's really dusty and sandy with more jagged rocks and parts of the trails are gravel. There are cool patches of red rock/dirt. It is also very different to wind on trails around cactus instead of tall trees. I like that you can see across the trails and watch other bikers. Todd at one point left me to catch my breath (1:43pm in the desert, yuck) and went down, then up a hill that had stair-stepping, just so he could hop and ride down. I'm sure once the weather breaks (when will that be?) it will be a really fun trail. I pretty much have no guts. Something about six kids also had me walking my bike on the parts by the 50ft straight down red rock drop-offs.
Thanks to Cory for hooking Todd up with a nice bike. Now I can go with him since he isn't riding my bike. Thanks to Todd for the lessons-you are very patient with me.

at least you try it. I would be doing the same thing, sounds scary!
You did great. A few more times and you'll be a pro. btw. You have a very nice looking pedal stroke (straight knees, knees over yor feet, good foot turn, etc).
You're the best!
Sounds fun. Different but fun.
I miss our Happy sumo lunches after our Hard rides!
Keep it up so when you come out for Thanksgiving we will have to go. It's actually still so nice here and the biking is still gorgeous!
