Allycakes

I love little chunky baby feet, the little tummy that leads the way when babies learn to walk and the sparkly eyes of my little ones. With mixed emotions, I must wish Ally, my first born,

Happy 14th Birthday!

Where has the time gone? She was my little college buddy. Yes, I started fall semester at BYU with her inside, had her over labor day and then we went to school together, for the rest of the semester. After that she was banned (by me) from going back to class. We did however, go to football games, parades and lunch at the Cougar Eat. I would have much rather played with her throughout the lectures, but I was determined to graduate. When she was 9 mo. old I bought a pass to seven peaks and we would play in the water until she was so tired and would fall asleep. I'd read books and relax in the sun until she woke up, then we would stop at Einstein Bagels and get lemonade and a bagel and head home. She would nap again, just before dinner, with me, our heads at opposite ends of our couch in our basement apartment. She walked at 10 mo. and ran at 11 mo. She was the best of friends with her little cousin Witney. We'd eat lunch at chick-fil-a on a regular basis and we kept the baby gap in business. I have many video tapes of her dancing with her little cousin. To get her to sleep, we had to push her in the jog stroller out in the parking lot, late at night. Um, the other kids didn't get such a treatment! She lost her baby teeth and got glasses in elementary school. For her 12th birthday trip, she chose New York City. We had fun shopping, seeing the city, eating at yummy places, getting pedicures, and seeing Chitty Chitty Bang Bang on Broadway. Shortly after that, she got contacts and braces. Now the braces are gone too and she has an even more beautiful smile.

Ally went to pre-school in Arizona, kindergarten-3rd grade in TX, 4-7th in UT and back to AZ for 8th grade. She does great in school and has lots of friends. She is liking her new school and having 2 PE classes everyday. (Just not when both of them are right before pictures on picture day!)

Favorites: Mango, pizza, Radio Disney, lip gloss & lotion from BBW, blogging, hanging out with friends, fruity pebbles, Arby's, Cafe Rio, Spaghetti Factory, family parties, now-n-later candy, dressing up, reading, clothes, shoes, vacations, accessories, ipod and pink phone, shopping, swimming and volleyball, joking around with her brothers and sisters, & cooking.

Ally is so fun to be around, is a great friend, daughter, helper and big sister. I hope time stands still for just a little while today. We love you Ally!

What a great tribute...but it made me so sad. They grow up too fast, and sometimes too slowly. Ally is a beautiful girl. I wish she were still around to hang with Jordan

As I recall, you couldn't just WALK her around the block in the stroller to get her to sleep... you had to RUN with her in the jog stroller! I also recall CLIMBING ALLY, up onto the kitchen counters to get to the upper cupboards when she was way too young to be doing that, but she sure figured it out. It took both Holli and I to feed her--one to hold her hands and one to put the food in the mouth. Otherwise, she would grab the spoon every time!! Oh so cute! Now she's so beautiful, kind, smart, and as wonderful as ever!!

I remember when Ally was born, it was the first niece so I was pretty excited. I was on my mission in Brookes Pointe, Palawan, Philippines and was 200 miles or so from the nearest telephone so I couldn't call Taylors to say congratulations.
Happy Birthday -
