A funny (embarrassing) thing that happened to me today. I sent the kids up to bed, got my black light to check for scorpions and the doorbell rings. I open it and it is the bishop's wife and daughter with a plate full of brownies. Just as I'm saying "hello", a soccer ball comes flying from upstairs and hits me on the head and then bounces out the front door just past the ladies. Nice. Nice to meet you. We always have things flying from the banister, would you like to come in? Please come in, step on a scorpion and here's a goose egg to go with that.
Todd flew to UT and back today, safely. Thankful for that. He was able to work on some business, see his parents, brother and sister and check on the house. We had an uneventful day here at home & school. We went swimming after school and then cleaned up the house and went to Cafe Rio. I hadn't been to the AZ one, which means we haven't been in over a month. We missed it too! I called in our order thinking if it was like the ones in UT we'd need to call 45 min. early to get it when we wanted it. So she said is 10 min. okay? When we got there, nobody was there except for 3 tables. Um, where are all the people??? Now, do we try and spread the word so it doesn't go under or keep this little secret to ourselves? No line at Cafe Rio is something I don't think I've ever seen-at least at the American Fork & St. George locations.
I'm in the middle of Pride & Prejudice. Nice book.

That's funny! Sometimes you just have to laugh, huh? What else can you do. I love that you had your flashlight in hand. At least you got a little treat out of the deal.
I have been doing major bug checks too. Good idea on the blacklight...and I love the ball coming flying as you are probably still in that "we're new here and trying to impress people" stage. Oh boy!
J, I just woke up to get the kids ready for school my eyes barely open but once I read the part about the soccer ball and flashlight I couldn't stop laughing! That was so funny! Thanks for waking me up!
No line at Cafe Rio!??! Not heard of! Was it good?
Too funny about the Ball in the face, the bishops wife should know that's what happens when you have 6 kids! haha
Making memories!!
Haha! I loved that story! Kids think that their parents embarass them so much but really the kids do it just as much to the parents! No line at Cafe Rio is seriously a dream come true! That place is soo good.
I love that life in AZ is the same as life in UT. I'm glad those darling kids haven't changed! (Not that they do stuff like that all the time, but accidents happen.:) )
P & P is a great book. You'll have to watch "Becoming Jane" when you're finished with it.
I'm in the middle of Eclipse. Hmmm...it's a little weird for me right now.
I'm still laughing and can just imagine you standing at the door :0) I needed a laugh today--Education Week. I might have to hurt someone before it's all over. Enjoy the P&P. It's hard to beat!
Sounds a bit like my life . . .
We have a Costa Vida here which is the CO Cafe Rio. I love that no matter when I go there, I see half of my stake also dining and that all accents are Utahn.
Glad I'm not the only one with crazy kids! No line at Cafe Rio? I'm moving! Except the scorpion thing kind of freaks me out. What do you do when you actually find one?
